Substances such as alcohol, nicotine, marijuana. cocaine, hypnotics and others can cause the onset of or trigger underlying symptoms of depression, anxiety, psychosis, delirium, motor disorders, sexual dysfunctions and many more.
The first step towards dealing with such conditions would be control and eventual elimination of substance use; along with treatment for caused symptoms. Conditions caused by substance use often have multiple comorbidities that may complicate the treatment process.
But gaining the appropriate treatment will increase the chances of betterment and control over substance use.
