50% of employees refuse having job satisfaction due to lack of work life balance
A balanced life is a must for each professional. Spending dedicated hours at work with the rest of the time for yourself is the basic requirement of each employee. The old proverb “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” rightly portrays the importance of a balance between work and fun. Overdose of either can have a negative impact on one’s life as well as health.
It is understandable that getting off work and completing your tasks everyday is not a possibility. Some days, putting in an extra hour may be necessary. But if that extra hour is turning into your permanent work-timing, it will hamper the balance. Thinking about and doing work the majority of the time leads your brain into a muddle.
Having no social or personal life due to overburdening work makes employees unhappy and resentful towards their jobs and colleagues. They continue working without the satisfaction of their work. Drawing a clear line between work hours and personal time is the key here.
