The more you actively invest in a relationship, the more is inner satisfaction and love you receive! Couples start planning their future well in advance and begin discussing their roles and responsibilities in the relationship as well. During this crucial step, the process of formulating goals and implementing those becomes vital. Most couples forget about this part of the process; hence, setting the right expectations from the partner becomes difficult later in the relationship. If clear boundaries and goals are set, navigating the relationship can become quite easy and peaceful too.

The following worksheet is to be solved by both partners wherein both of you should be aware of your goals first and then segregate them in the table given below into 5 categories: Career, Location, Assets, Family, and Others. Once this is done, you can add your names to the respective columns and start filling out the table accordingly. Next, both partners can likewise prioritise their goals and highlight the common ones between them. This shall give you an insight into your compatibility with each other as well.

After all of the above is done, one final step you have to make is to discuss the uncommon goals and certain non-negotiable aspects of your life and how both of you can adjust to these goals to accommodate each other well.

One thing to remember is that this worksheet is not a formal assessment that is being done to diagnose you with any mental health disorder.
